downloading binaries corrupting is there a fix

I'm on the news groups downloading binaries and at least 5 of the 30 rars are corrupt im using agent so i know there complete i then clear the bad file and re download till they come through i then get a complefe unrar then burn but when it come time to install i get errors saying file x does not match the one in the cab file i should say the binarie file arent coming through as rar type files there unknown, i'm using an Abit kt7a mobo, an amd 1.2c t-bird, 256 meg of micron ram, tnt ultra 2 vid card,liteon cdrom, plextor cdrw, ibm 45 gig hd, realtec nic, generic disk drive and 300 watt psu and 5 case fans i have the newest via driver and the wz bios i reintall system without sound blaster live ???
