downloaded the ETQW demo

i have a dual core AMD 3800+, NVidia 7900GT KO, 2GB RAM, plenty of disc space..

but when I launch the demo, the mouse is very sluggish - and that's just on the opening screen to create a character!!!

I run autodetect on the video settings and it sets it to 16x10 widescreen, 800x600, High

am i missing something?

Its should run pretty good on that system. I ran it at 1920x1080 with everything turned up and it ran good. Try new drivers.

nope.. didn't help much... i noticed that my CPU usage hovers around 55% (peaking at 74% when loading map resources).

i noticed after the driver update that my mouse ran faster on teh opening screen.. but as soon as I selected Settings, bam.. it slowed down to a crawl.

Do you have dual monitors? The game will only work with single display mode.

I ran it on a dual core system with a 7600GT and it ran very well. I didn't really like it all that much, but it ran well.

I ran it on a 7600gt at 1680* and on a 7900sli at 1920* and both ran fine.

also try, disabling any secondary montior if you have one

for the settings described in that thread, you should create an autoexec.cfg for and put it in the same directory as the other .cfg files. it's under /users/login_name/documents/iD software/
