Okay-- so i'm in the process of trading in my sentra (in sig) for a newer se-r spec v. I'm probably going to have to wait till summer though, just becuase getting a new car in the middle of the school year is a hassle and i have way to much other stuff going on right now that is more important.

anyway-- so i get this cd in the mail from Nissan the other day, pop it in my computer and this killer anime starts playing... I'm not sure if anybody else here has seen it-- i searched the net for it but couldnt find anything. I thought it was really cool though. Somebody at nissan has way to much free time on there hands.

so if you're bored or suffering from an overdose of bandwidth right now-- i suggest you download it and check it out. Spec V anime, Master of the sixth speed 😀

EDIT: HOLY ATOT EFFECT! I would have thought a few people would download this... not 300 though-- ate up 4gig's of bandwidth... i still have plenty left but want to save some of it for the rest of the month... 🙂 if you really want to download it PM me and i'll hook you up.

let me know what you think 🙂

<< That's one fast a$$ server! I just downloaded it at over 580 kb/s. >>

😀

Diddo, I topped out at 904 the dropped down to about 340

But yeah... that ad kicked ALL SORTS of A$$. Reminds me of those BMW net DL's from last year

Rallispec, that was great, I love the end when he's asked about the condition of the car 😀

the mach V owns.. the spec V is the best real car though.

linux-- you think you have it bad? i'm my colleges network, which right now is a single T1 line shared between 800 computers. You do that math.. :disgust:

you all suck.. i've never hit download speeds higher than 100kb/s on my own freakin server. (stupid school)

3-95.com is my host--- they're great. 😀

i'm glad you all like the video.. NISSAN RULES!

holy sh!t, i loved the end when that bubble was about to swallow the car, and he hit 6th gear, and hauled as$. 😎

yeah, um, sorry there Rallispec.

The sad thing is that in real life hitting 6th gear would have actually slowed down the acceleration of the car, so much for truth in advertising.

well.. i guess that is mostly true-- it wouldn't accelerate at as fast of a rate, however it would continue to accelerate, and reach overall higher top speeds....

That's not anime. That's amerime (an American animation studio's poor imitation of what genuine anime is supposed to look like). Just check out the smaller eyes, cliched characters, and lack of chicks with long legs and big boobeys.

As for a Nissan employee having too much time, this is actually a very clever ad campaign. The whole thing has very low production values: No celebrities, no famous voiceover actors, very little hand-drawn animation (more than 70% of the movie consists of 3D animation, which is significantly cheaper) and very low distribution costs (10-15 cents per pressed CD, including packaging and case, plus low bulk-mailing rates).

And to make things even sweeter for Nissan, people like you are distributing their advertising message for them for free over the Internet!

maybe they'll give me a discount when i finally do get around to actually buying the spec V 😀

yeah.... it would be nice.. and even if its not true *anime*.. but its a cool cartoon with a nice car.

i think they should get a commercial like this cut down to 30 seconds and get it on tv.

That would defeat the whole point of this project, which is to get a marketing message out to their target market (18 to 30 year old white and Asian middle to upper middle class males) for the lowest possible cost.

They do this by mailing out CD's containing amerime, and hoping that their target market (which correlates with the target market for anime in the US) will view, and further distribute, the anime-inspired marketing message.

I bet that Nissan has spent less money on this entire project than it would have to spend on a single 30-second spot on a national TV network.

<< But it's a friggin Sentra, fer Chrissakes... It's not like it's a fast car.. >>

:|
its not just a sentra... its the se-r spec V.. and its probably faster then whatever you're driving 😛

What does the SE-R Spec V have? The "same" 180hp engine as found in the Altima? I recall reading on either edmunds or caranddriver that the Spec V isn't as fast as you would expect it to be.

I think my maxima would whoop your pos sentra @ss.....😀 (j/k, i'm not trying to start a flam war, but my car IS faster than the sentra)
