Download the US plan for victory in Iraq (PDF)

I love all the quotes in italics, sure reads a lot like a marketing pamphlet, not a real plan.

They rehashed the same talking points that have proven to be crap over the past few years by the GOP..whoopee

It is still BS no matter how they package it.

wasn't this "plan" really written by a pollster who has nothing to do with Iraq, just polled to find out what people wanted to hear?

Do you mean that a president might do what the people want? Gasp, the horror. We elect people specifically to NOT do what we want! Aaaaaahhhhhhhh. Run for the hills!

In other words, there is nothing wrong with a president going by pollsters. Heck, they should do it a lot more often.

"And as to whether or not I make decisions based upon polls, I don't. I just don't make decisions that way. I fully understand the consequences of what we're doing. We're changing the world. And the world will be better off and America will be more secure as a result of the actions we're taking."

I would call that a flip flop, but I know he does everything with polls, so he's back to being just a plain liar.

Again, if this is true, who cares? People change their mind all the time. If he changed his mind due to polls, to do what the majority wants, why complain? People always complain about politicians and polls. Yet I've never heard one strong argument about why it is bad that politicians do what their constituents want.

He did not change his mind to do what the people want, his polls were low so he went on his typical campaign style blitz. Speeches at very friendly venues, rehearsed talks with the troops, lots of one liners, etc. The PDF and "plan" was just part of that campaign.

If he truly did what the public wanted (which presidents should not necessarily do) then he would have started a troop withdrawal, that was supported by like 60% of the voting public.

But there are now all kinds of rumors of planned withdrawls beginning in the next year. That IS what the polls showed the public wants and it IS now being discussed. I still fail to see your point.
