Not a deal. There are many SP2 threads in the Operating Systems category (where it belongs)

How do I go head and delete this then?
You can't delete.
Either edit your original post to say, "Please Delete" or do nothing at all and let the thread drop to the bottom and die.

I would wait. I've read more then enough reports of it causing more problems then it fixes to make me hold off.

I dont' mind it being in the hot deals forum, but I already heard about SP2. I didn't read into it as much though. I'll wait until it goes public on the Windows update.

is that a referral code i see in link??????

just kidding

i installed it 3 days ago and have had no problems at all

What rock have you guys been living under? How on earth could you NOT have known XP SP2 is out???

It's not on windowsupdate.com.

It will be on August 16th.

Technically, it is available now, if you turn on automatic updates. But, I assume most of the people on this forum are like me and don't turn on automatic anything.

Not a hot deal, but installed SP2 several days ago, so far no problems... time for the rest of the PC's in my apt.

I've been running the SP2 beta for a long time and I have the release SP2 on my systems here. No problems and, if you use wireless, it is worth it purely for some extra additions MS made.

By the way, on my desktop I downloaded and installed from this link but my laptop was setup with auto updates and it downloaded it a couple days ago by itself. Worked great. I'm a big Linux/FreeBSD fan but Windows XP is nice too!
