Click here now! The 669kB Morpheus 1.331 that was slow and buggy yesterday was one that was loaded with errors. Read about the real preview edition and give it a try 🙂 Woohoo, Morpheus may just still work!

Oh, sry if this is a repost.....

Edit! It works and I'm downloading a file at a decent non 0.01KB/s speed 🙂

I kept getting BSOD's every 5 minutes without even touching it, just having it running in win2k, so I neutered Kazaa, and it likes me.

The new Morpheus sucks by all accts.

People, be sure to click on the link and read the first paragraph. The new Morpheus released yesterday was buggy, but this revised one, which is 37kB larger, is indeed very functional 🙂

So why is everyone so excited over a new Gnutella client? There's nothing in the new Morpheus that hasn't been around for a year or two in other Gnu clients. 😕

<< yeah, I haven't been able to get anything more out of this new Morpheus that I couldn't get out of limewire. >>

Plus its ugly...

I like KaZaa, using it after wiping the spyware 9and replacing with dud)...it does the job, just need more users now...

<< I can't believe that actually released that crap yesterday....wtf??? >>

Geez man, can't anyone read?

<< Kazaa/Sharman Networks decided to LOCK Out Morpheus users and now want you to download Kazaa/Grokster which have Spyware. In addition can make changes to your registry along with who knows what else. Maybe report info about you to the RIAA?
Morpheus had Originally planned to connect to the Gnutella network AND its existing network. Obviously those plans have been malaciously foiled by the sneaky bastards at Kazaa.
So as a quick fix to allow users to STILL have access and download files , the Morpheus Preview Edition has been released which is just the Gnucleus Client to connect to Gnutella Network *UNTIL* Morphues2.0 can be completed in the next few weeks. What will this mean? That the same great users that made Morpheus will be able to make a BETTER network run by the users. Not controlled by some shady corporation that puts Spyware in their client.

What they released last night was an abomination. At least this version feels more complete and actually connects.

But, I'm getting random BSODs in Win2K also, for some reason. 😕

My understanding on this is that the new Morpheus is a forked version of the Gnucleus gnutella client. Gnucleus in the past has had stability issues on Win2K (I've had occasional random bluescreens), which have been improved with the newest versions. It's possible that the Morpheus client is forked from an earlier version of Gnucleus.
