WTF, it only found 12 files. Some were just cookies and it didnt even find anything with BDE. I'm a bit disappointed. :(;)

I'm really wondering what you guys are running on your systems.. I ran it and found zero spyware. Then again, I don't run Kazaa or Morpheus... (edonkey is still spyware-free if you avoid the cydoor one).

Hmm... just downloading version 5.71 wasn't enough for me, I had to download the newest reference as well... I found 183 instances, all of it BDE, 61 components on each of my three hard drives. Weird thing is this PC here is not used for peer to peer sharing, porn, or anything like that. This machine here is strictly for AIM, word processing/office work, and very very mild web browsing (meaning no porn, crack websites, anything like that). This is a supposedly "clean" PC ... wonder where this came from? Odd that it infected all three drives as well.

Yeesh. I only had 4. Man, I love ZoneAlarm Pro. Newest version cuts out ALL ads, and keeps spyware crap the hell out of my computer. Nice.

Where are you guys getting this new version from? First of all the link provided here is not from Lavasoft USA's website (which is who made Ad-Aware), and second of all when I click to downlaod it, redirecting me to CNET Download.com, I get 5.62 which is the version I already have. Nobody has explained this yet...

When I ran 5.62with the latest update when I started Windows it found 5, when I ran 5.7 right after having installed it it found 27.
Most from Gator, but that's prolly because of DivX 5.0 Pro (Gain).

ucv6b, spyware is programs that always run in the background (and you cannot see 'em in the task list) and monitor where you go on the Net and your email-adress plus they sometimes can cause pop-ups with adds. As Antisocial-Virge said a new, even more irritating form of spyware is begninng to appear where they use the computers "infected" (note the image of virus...) to calculate stuff just like Seti but without telling people what they use the computer-power to, at least I think they won't.
Yeah I'm paranoid, I admit it.

I just downloaded the new one, and am about to run it. What is this Cydoor file everyone mentions? My older version of AdAware has found it a few times, yet I have never installed KaZaA.
