Damn, I was wondering what BDE was. I had an entry in msconfig and disabled it. Those bastards. :disgust: Gonna download it when I get home. Thanks man.
I had already installed ver 5.70, which is only a couple of weeks old, so a new scan with ver 5.71 didn't catch anything missed by the older versions. Glad I have it, though.
I found that BDE crap on my own a couple weeks ago. I deleted all of the files off my harddrive but didn't bother with the registry entries. About 120 of the components were BDE registry entries.
I'm using Sygate Personal Firewall 4.2, and it uses a file "sporder.dll", which Ad-Aware has this as part of WebHance spyware. Sygate won't start without it tho.
It either means that they both call different files the same thing, or Sygate uses spyware??? :Q
I found 54 all but 1 was BDE the 1 was the inactive cydoor with kazaa lite. I think they were really harmless to me because I have them in my host file.
Man I thought you guys were full of it so I downloaded the updated reference file just to see what it would find. First I did a full scan with the version I already had and it found a bout a half dozen or so entries. I nuked them and then proceeded to download and install the update. I scanned again and it came back with 158 entries!!!!!! (technically it's 157 if you don't count the dummy .dll file in Kazaa Lite). I couldn't believe that there was so much "spyware" on my system.
I like to keep my machine clean, but geez did it find alot of junk. The best part is that probably 90% of the garbage was a result of my brother using my system. I've got no beef with him but I swear the next time he installs any garbage on my system I'm going to kill him (well, maybe not kill......I'll just smack him around a bit )
