Which would imply, to my backwards logic, that you're saying Hulu's movie streaming is better...if the two should not be compared, why would you introduce it to the discussion?

Given the oodles of TV shows available on Netflix both by-mail and by-streaming, it doesn't even make a lot of sense to say that Netflix is primarily movies...

But yes, I mostly watch TV shows on streaming. Not that there's anything wrong with that, I need to use my disc rentals for something.

Huh. I'm curious what you define as "Good". So, I just pulled up Netflix and did a test run. Here is what I did:

go back and read my post. like, all of it. There are categories that are indeed littered with crap. those that I listed were sci-fi/fantasy & ACTION/ADVENTURE. (waggy reminded me that horror is also full of fail...but that's simply because the genre in any list is pretty much full of fail--not that there isn't good horror, mind you).

so, you pick form a category that I already mentioned was shit. I assumed you guys were using these categories to base your opinions b/c, well, this is ATOT, and if it ain't Action or Sci Fi, then it isn't on your radar.

my suggestion is to broaden your scope and taste. I can't think of a single action movie that deserves to be in a top 200 list of all time greatest flicks anyway...so just so you know, there's more out there.

Basically, streaming quality sucks compared to BD. I have come to appreciate it for the documentary, Indy, drama, comedy, TV, etc that really doesn't benefit from quality video. I leave mail-in BD for decent action movies.

Yes, the selection is not what it could be, but it's not bad at all! I don't see why there's so much criticism for their streaming collection, especially considering it's more or less a value added supplement to their dvd rental service.

Its not basically free its TOTALLY FREE. They never raised my bill once since introducing this.

I didn't see any difference in streaming last night. HD content is still 720p and pretty decent, SD is still like jamming my eyes with a burning bamboo shoot.

I love Watch-It-Now for TV series. I can watch an episode here and there without needing to "waste" one of my disc slots on it the entire time I am working my way through a series. And image/sound quality doesn't usually matter much for TV shows, although HD is always appreciated when available (Heroes, Arrested Development, etc). It's also good for documentaries.

I generally save movies for Blu-Ray/DVD.

Sorry, that took me 3 minutes of just typing up some of my recently watched list. As far as defining "good," I tried to pick a wide variety of genres for that list, and there are a good number of award winners as well. If you can't find a bunch of good movies in there, then you need to re-evaluate your taste. I could find MANY MANY MANY more classics, indie, foreign, and docu's, but you get the idea. To be honest, though, if I could have a three-way with my live-in women any time I wanted .. I probably wouldn't spend time browsing Netflix's streaming list either.

I had ran out of stuff that wasn't shitty and brate a year ago. I still was finding an occasional good film, but not often. And even when I would binge watch movies I'd get burnt out enough that everything seemed shitty even when it was good. But since they began putting up decent tv shows that's all I've watched much of the past 6 months or so.

netflix has a decent selection and so far i haven't gotten close to exhausting their selection of interesting movies to watch. just recently watched the star trek 2-4 movies that i hadn't seen since i was a kid. very good deal for $10/month. and no commercials.

I've already seen pretty much anything I've found on streaming that I think is worth watching. I mostly just use Netflix for new releases now. I watched way too many movies when I was younger.
