Doubletree Hotel Cookies?

I'm gonna be staying at a Doubletree soon. I heard they give you a chocolate chip cookie on check-in. How are the cookies? Thanks.

depends on if they're fresh out of the oven or not. that makes or breaks the cookie. 😉

Not as good as these:
The Thin
Recipe courtesy Alton Brown
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 sticks unsalted butter

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
Pinch baking soda
1 egg

2 ounces milk
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Hardware:
Ice cream scooper (#20 disher, to be exact)
Parchment paper
Baking sheets
Mixer
Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Sift together the flour, salt, and baking soda in a mixing bowl. Combine the egg, milk, and vanilla and bring to room temperature in another bowl.
Cream the butter in the mixer?s work bowl, starting on low speed to soften the butter. Add the sugars. Increase the speed, and cream the mixture until light and fluffy. Reduce the speed and add the egg mixture slowly. Increase the speed and mix until well combined.
Slowly add the flour mixture, scraping the sides of the bowl until thoroughly combined. Stir in the chocolate chips. Scoop onto parchment-lined baking sheets, 6 cookies per sheet. Bake for 13 to 15 minutes, checking the cookies after 5 minutes. Rotate the baking sheet for more even browning.
Remove the cookies from the pans immediately. Once cooled, store in an airtight container.
Yield: 2 1/2 dozen cookies
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes

They are delicious. I got mine when it was hot and fresh right out of the oven.

My mom's cousin stayed at one near us about a year ago and brought over a dozen. Words can't begin to describe how good they are.

Doubletree :cookie:'s > most

Pretty Darn Good! 🙂

They give you 2 per day. More if you sweet-talk the ladies at the desk. 😉

Whoa! They give cookies out? When did this start? I stayed at a couple Doubletree's many years ago, and I didn't get any cookies 🙁

When I checked in to a Doubletree yesterday evening, the lady handed me one. The :cookie: wasn't pretty good. I didn't know about the free cookie when I made my reservation, so it was a nice surprise.

What did you not like about the cookie and I can tell you exactly how to fix it.

Did you use Kosher salt?
What kind of flour did you use?
Did you use salted or unsalted butter?

NaCl rather than NaCl plus iodine.
It is also in larger pieces, so it measures differently.
1 teaspoon of kosher salt is equivalent to 1/2 teaspoon of table salt

Psssh. When you stay at Lou's Motel 9 off of exit 145 on I-10 in Louisiana, you get a plate of RIBS on your nightstand and your choice of beer or iced tea to wash it down.

You can KEEP those faggie cookies.
