Saw him screaming about federal government not coming to the rescue of his state during the oil spill.

I agree with you 100 percent coltsfan. I would feel a little more comfortable if the republican party was moving in the direction of say Mitch Daniels instead of Sarah Palin and her like...

Mitch and Bloomberg are pragmatists and realists not the stiff ideologues replacing the moderates.

My point has been that you can be principled and take a stand if you believe it. Just dont do it when its politically expedient and turn around and take credit for it.

I do not think the democrats are without sin. Far from it. The topic at hand though is the vilification of the stimulus and the health care bill.

Have you guys seen the Koch brothers lining up for money from the health care bill?

Actually he was more pissed at the Federal government preventing cleanup operations. It was a much worse clusterfuck than Katrina and the well was kinda one that the Feds leased.

Did they prevent him from building that useless trench that scientists were jumping up and down telling him it wouldnt work and ended up doing more damage than good>?

Ya they let him build it...

Not one scientist or engineer came forward saying it was a good idea.

If Mitch Daniels runs in 2012, I would have to support him. The problem is that no matter who wins, Congress is going to have to be brought onboard; unfortunately, our representatives seem to think that having "their team" win at all costs is what is important, not doing what is best for America.

I would consider Daniels in 2012. I wonder how far right he would have to go....

That's a good question and sometimes, I wonder if the radical right (aka, the fundies) are really more of an extremely vocal minority rather than a sizable voting demographic. I'd like to think the average American is smarter than that, but I should probably be prepared to be disappointed.

Well vocal minorities tend to be united. Most smart independent people are by their very nature individualistic with their own agendas and what they feel is right. I do believe the majority of Americans aren't that ideologically driven. Sadly their own independence works against them...
