You need a special burner. Seems like it won't really have much success as 650 and 700MB cd's are the standard right now and dvd-r drives will be coming out at cheaper prices in not too long.

this is the stuff that Sony makes, requires a new player and recorder. I'd avoid this and go for the multi-layer CD ones (one bit on the CD consists of 3 bits, compared to normal CDs, with 1 bit), which are also incompatible for reading/writing (with todays drives), though don't require any new technology, except a change in one of the chips on the drive, which means you need a new drive anyway.

Plextor will also be creating a drive for this multi-layered stuff.

um if this is only sony drive can do it than i will not buy it. cos seen only sony can make this drive so the media will expansive
