double click speed

i looked at my double click speed and moved it around but that didn't help.

sometimes when i single click on say firefox... it will open up twice.. but it doesn't happen every time.. but it does happen enough to be annoying. does anybody know what could be wrong?

I have winxp and it's a desktop computer.

another example.. in the above line i single clicked each word.. one by one.. and 5/8 of the words ended up getting highlighted.. because the single click acted like a double click action.

Try a different mouse if you have one available. It sounds like the mouse might be reporting false/extra clicks to the computer.

Yep, Logitech support called it a micro switch.

Ya, bad mouse... same thing happened with my old intellimouse

Sometimes if you start hammering on the switch over and over, it'll temporarily improve. Or it'll get worse. But SOMETHING will happen.

Mice are expendable. Always have a spare handy.
