Double click problem

Nocturnal

Lifer
I have messed with my double click/mouse settings from setting it on fast to slow. However, when I try my hardest to click on these two items in my system tray it will act as though it was one click. The two items are a minimized Outlook 2003 and AIM (newest beta version). I know it's beta but I tried re-installing the final 5.5 and it does the same thing. HELP!

Oh yeah, I recently purchased a new mouse since I thought my other mouse was dying; it wasn't. HELP!

It's getting really annoying having to click four or five times just to have AIM or Outlook open back up. I've tried formatting, it still didn't fix the problem. I bought a new mouse and that did not solve the problem. What else could be going on here?

What I did so far is moved the mouse from one USB port to another. Also I noticed after a fresh reboot it is not doing it. Could it be that my system's ram resources were taken up thus not being able to complete a double click in the system tray?

yea some system tray icons only have functions for single click. any other icons working for you double click-wise?
