Double Check Please

Hi all. I wanted to thank all those great people that helped and gave me great instruction and advice. I'm ready to purchase these items and just wanted some professional advice/knowledge before I find out something is not compatible or what ever the case might be. I am NOT going to be overclocking or running more then one GPU. I know the cpu is unlocked and such but I think its the best value even with stock setting. If you see any discrepancies or incompatibility, please feel free to chime in. The cpu and mobo probably is over kill for my application (WoW and MXSIM with some video editing) but I feel its a good combo. (who knows what the future will hold for SLI or OCing) So this is my soon to be rig:

PSU: Corsair Builder Series CX600 600 watt 80 Plus Certified
MOBO: Gigabyte Intel Z77 GA-Z77X-UD5H
Optical Drive: Samsung SH-222BB/BEBE 22X SATA DVDRW
R.A.M.: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8 GB 1600mhz 240-Pin DDR3
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Black 1 TB SATA III 7200 RPM 64 MB
CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K
CASE: Cooler Master HAF 912

Will the stock CPU cooler be adequate for this rig?( I think the case comes with a couple 120mm fans also).

Are you buying this from a Microcenter or something? The fact that you're buying a K processor with no intention of overclocking, you're also buying a Z family chipset which was designed for OCing and is considerably more expensive than the lower end H family chipset is. Also the i5-3550 is extremely close to the stock speed of the 3570K but for a decent chunk of money less. Are there features of the Z chipset that you require/want that warrant the roughly doubled price?

Not sure what to say about the HDD without knowing how much you're paying for it, I expect there is a premium for getting a Caviar Black though, have you looked into the Spinpoint F1s? I believe they performed roughly the same for some decent amount less (prior to the huge SSD wave).

The name of that set of RAM just makes me instinctively think that you're paying a lot more than you should be for it. Not really sure where you're going to be ordering from but I will assume the US.

Im sure i will dabble with ocing in the next couple of years.. as of now i have no clue about that aspect. I'm basically semi future proofing as im sure one day i will oc. the hdd is $100 the memory is $55 for 2x4 gigs(ive read reviews of heat spreaders hittin aftermarker coolers)thats why i chose low profile.

But you're not running an aftermarket cooler so I fail to see the reason to pay more for the RAM? Also unless you're running a MASSIVE block for your cooler, at most you'll be forced to run you memory in the 2 and 4 slots instead of 1 and 3. Has no actual impact on the system.

Also you're paying quite a bit extra now for the chance that you might be interested in OCing in the future, not entirely sure that's a good way around it. I also see no video card listed, which makes me wonder what this system is going to be used for, if it's not gaming you don't need more than a dual-core unless its for productivity purposes, in which case you should just go for the OC now instead of later.

im going to use the hd 4000 integrated graphics on the cpu for now.. I only play WoW and MX sim as mentioned above. I know the graphics are not optimum but will surfice for a little while

as for the mobo.. ive had lots of suggestions and was going to go with the pro3m or d3h but both didnt have great reviews. what mobo u suggest for the 3570k? Keep in mind that I probably wont oc or sli/fire.

i will look into the ram but for $20 more i can get 3570k seems like a deal.

$20 more for the 3570K, then another ~$50 more for the board, that's $70 you could put towards an actual GPU, which would be the better option imo. But it is ultimately your decision, don't be surprised if your framerates and image quality are quite poor despite having a modern CPU as I highly doubt the HD4000 will be able to handle all the models and particles it will have to render for a game like WoW.

point well taken.. its a far cry better then what i have now..tho.. lol single core 3g ram 3ghz cpu old dell 520. but i definetly will be getting a discrete gpu. as for the board?

it integrated graphics and normally its 13 fps on the lowest settings possible.. Ive seen some hd4000 side by side comparisons with a good gpu and while not better the hd4k did seem good.. I am going to get a gpu but im puttin alot of my eggs in one basket to get this..lol.. my comp needs to be shot.. i have a gopro hero 2 and i have to record at 720x30fps or my comp wont play vids. it old and week but that all i know..

I agree with this. When it comes to overclocking, if you don't do it when the machine is shiny and new, the chances of your being interested later on are pretty much nil. The $70 you could save would get you a 6670 which will make worlds more difference in your gaming performance than a K series processor would.
