I know that I shouldn't be one to throw a railing accusation against anyone, but honestly, if you don't like headaches, please steer clear from dot5hosting as your web host.
I am taking care of getting the domain name, web hosting, and website set up for some people who I am living with, and I chose to use dot5hosting.com. I chose them because I am currently using them as my host, and I have had no problems with them whatsoever. But with this new account.... things are different.
First, when you buy their product online, they don't bring you to a page that lets you look over everything to confirm it before you click pay. You fill everything out, then you click submit, and you get an email letting you know that you just bought their product.
Second, when I received their email telling me that I purchased a domain and a hosting package, they said that they would send me an email within the next 24 hours that would have the information on accessing my account. That was four days ago. No email since then.
Third, I send multiple emails to the company, and signed up to use their technical support to send in tickets. I have sent in two tickets, and they haven't responded to any of them.
They advertise a 30 minute email response time, guaranteed. But so far, nothing. Their live technical support is a joke too. Bah.
All I want to do is cancel the account, but they won't respond to the emails to even let me do that!
My advice to anyone looking for web hosting: Stay away from dot5hosting. Don't refer anyone to dot5hosting, unless you don't like the person.
Also, does anyone know of any websites that you can go to that will report businesses/online businesses to multiple places at the same time. Because if there aren't any sites like that, I think I'm going to build one when I get home.
What places are there to report bad businesses to? Is there a BBB for the internets as well?
