Dos Shell Scrolling?

I am using WinNT cmd.exe Shell and I really need a scrollbar. Is there a program that I can download that will give me a scrollbar? If not, what is the alternative?

You can enlarge the buffer so that you can scroll back to previously displayed text, if that's what you want...

Right click on your task bar and select properties, then go to Advanced tab, and select Advanced... under customize Start Menu. Then find the "Command Prompt" shortcut, should be in the Accessories group. Right click, and select Properties Again.

On the options tab, you should be able to set the buffer size.

HTH.

Interesting point. I just took a look at the eConsole home page because I thought that might provide you with what you wanted. The "On Hold" section of the ToDo List contains a cryptic note stating that

<< There can never be a scroll back buffer ... >>

Weird, huh? Evidently this guy has reason to believe it can't be done, even by third party software, in NT 4.0.

Hope you find a solution. It's certainly a nice feature to have in W2K.

Regards,
Jim
