okay! i am trying to back up my outlook express files in DOS because I can't use windows or anything, but it seems as though DOS has a 7 level directory maximum in which I can enter.. is there anyway around this??
alright i figured out the 7 directory bug! all you have to do is in your seventh directory, move that directory to your root and you can access it.. if its' still more than 7, repeat this process until you get to the files you want!! =) thanks!
I don't understand why you have 7 levels for your OE files? OE lets you put your files anywhere you want. I create a folder called \OEMAIL. That is one level down from the root. In that folder are all the the mail files. That is two levels from the root and the end of the line. ???
I copy that entire folder to zip or LS-120 disks for mail retention. I have a DOS utility I can do the same thing with except it doesn't like long file names, so most get a ~ in the title. There are work arounds for that as well.
