Dos Boot disk for zip drive problem

I use zip 100 drives as a backup boot device for my point of sale systems.
I create a dos boot zip disk by using the dos sys command. This works fine
on the old iomega zip 100 cartridges. When I use the sys command on the
newer Iomega or Fuji cartridges (they have a red inverted triangle on the label)
it places the system files on the disk but the cartridges won't boot.
I can't see any physical differences between the cartridges other than the label.
I tried to talk to Iomega but all they would say is "We don't support the boot function."
Does anyone have any ideas on what has changed?

I ran into this as well. My solution was to find an old ide zip 100..install it and go from there.

It's not the drive. It's the cartridges. How have they changed the cartridges?
