DOS 3.1 Startup Disk

Weird question:

One of my dad's colleagues needs a DOS 3.1 startup disk to run some interfacing software for his machine shop. Can anyone provide this disk? The oldest version of DOS I have is 6.22, as I threw the others out.

Can anyone provide the files that would be on that startup disk?

You might check out www.bootdisk.com. They seem to have most bootdisk images, or links to sites that have them. I see a link for DOS 3.3 bootdisk. Don't know if that would be adequate, or do you really need 3.1?

easystreet: If you have an actual disk or something, can you just zip the files from the disk and send them to me? Bootdisk.com compresses them and all this riff-raff ... I really just need the files.

Thanks,

you should be able to use the DOS 6.22 disks in combination with setver in your config.sys.... setver can lie to the app and tell it that its 3.1

Really? OK, I'll give the 6.22 disks a try. Thanks Abzstrak.
