Doritos... I am disappoint

I can't stand Doritos. They are one of the worst chips out there.

Martin, are you sure they are the same as the USA variety? You may have a different recipe. Aren't the NZ version of Cheerios sugar coated?

Strange thing about Doritos. I dislike them too but for some reason I actually sort of find them addictive. Eat enough of them and you have a hard time stopping despite the fact that they suck compared to just about any other brand of chips.

Nah I don't know if the recipe is the same, but the packet says "made in New Zealand from local and imported ingredients" so they could well be different. NZ Cheerios aren't sugar coated

I <3 Cheerios.

US Cheerios aren't sugar coated either. There are some varieties you can buy that are but base Cheerios are plain old cardboard.

Spicy Nacho, Salsa Verde, and Fiery Habenero are my favorites. Buffalo Ranch is okay in small dosages.
Although, I'll never turn down Nacho or Cooler Ranch if offered.

Here in the US, Cheerios aren't sugar coated either...except for the "Frosted Cheerios" and IMO, those suck. Cheerios are available in a couple different flavors, none of which are sugar coated.

nacho cheese was the third flavor at best. plain and taco came before it. plain is no longer sold (and with tostitos around that makes plenty of sense). neither is the original taco.

The original Taco flavored Doritos were the only one I actually liked, although Black Pepper Jack were ok. They occasionally have a "Taco at Midnight" or some such crap...not very good.

As a rule, I don't like "coated chips," with the possible exception of BBQ flavored potato chips...and even then, not very often.

I started to get that way when I bought some nice tortilla chips and some kick ass salsa. No coated chips made it's way into the basket for a while.
So it was tortilla chips and kettle made salt and pepper potato chips.
I'm not sure what happened, but I got back into coated chips.

I love the Buffalo Ranch ones. My favorite ones are in Mexico though and unfortunately I can only get them as (in)frequently as some of my Mexican co-workers had back home for holidays. Diablo flavored... mmmmm.

I challenge you

pistols at dawn

winner gets the buffalo ranch doritos

i ate half a bag of Jalapeno Cheddar doritos last night

i really enjoy the mystery Doritos as well.... someone i know submitted a video to name the chip... Super Caliente. i like that name.

How can you say they just taste like regular tortilla chips? lol

Did they forget to put flavoring in your bag or something?

Their regular nacho ones are OK. I'm more a fan of the other flavors though.

I wish they would come out with 4 cheese again. The habanero ones were awesome too.

Yeah, I have no idea how he could think any flavor of Doritos taste like regular unflavored corn chips.

Nacho cheese would be about my last choice of Doritos.

I'm not actually sure what the "Salsa" flavor is that he's talking about, because they've had several different salsa varieties over the years and I don't think any are currently available near me. I loved Salsa Verde (green bag), but I haven't seen those in years.

My current favorite Doritos are the new "X degree burn" kinds. They have three flavors. 1st Degree Burn - Blazin' Jalepeno; 2nd Degree Burn - Fiery Buffalo; 3rd Degree Burn - something Habanero.

Currently only available in single-serve bags around here, but that's typical with new products. Hopefully they take off. Of the three, my favorite by far is the Fiery Buffalo.

Get the extra spicy ones, they're awesome. I lost track of exact names now, they seem to keep changing them around.

Oh and welcome to like 1961. 😛

They don't even make the best flavors anymore.

Flamin' Hot Doritos
Fiery Habanero
Black Pepperjack

Also, the original Nacho Cheese were better before they switched to Nacho Cheesier. Eventually they decided that the recipe change was permanent and just went back to calling them Nacho Cheese. Same thing for Cool Ranch.

I died a little inside when they discontinued the full size bags of Fiery Habanero. Those kicked ass in a way only an MSG-laden, spicy tortilla chip could.🙁

I had the nacho cheese doritos in Mexico over spring break, and I have to say they're much better than the nacho cheese doritos in the US. So are their Cheetos.
