boujwa? The fuck? Oh, you're trying to use bourgeois? Hahahahaha. How cute. But then what's a true American patriot like you trying to use French words for? Fucking socialist! Bet you like french fries too!
Climate change? Climate change? What a crock of shit! The owner of the Weather Channel doesn't even believe in the soup du jour word "climate change"/"Global warming."
How does being the owner of a TV station make someone an expert on any particular subject. Is the owner of MTV an expert on music?
Global warming bullcrap belongs in P&N as that's what the driving force behind it is. Politically driven money and power grab, in the name of "saving the planet" by a bunch of hypocrites.
Yeah, that will fit into your funny "bingo" image there. I could create the same for the opposite viewpoint. Too bad bingo cards don't make an argument valid.
Still waiting for someone to prove that giving some fat cats in Washington more tax dollars will somehow change the global climate![]()
It's just that the boujwa Liberals are inconvenienced by people like me and you. They smell their own farts and drive hybrids.
Temperatures rise = Global Warming
Temperatures lower = Global Warming
Climate gets wet = Global Warming
Climate gets dry = Global Warming
More hurricanes = Global Warming
Fewer hurricanes = Global Warming
Milder winters = Global Warming
Harsher winters = Global Warming
Hotter summers = Global Warming
Cooler summers = Global Warming
Car breaks down = Global Warming
Cat gets pregnant = Global Warming
...and on and on.
Global Warming (previously known as Global Cooling and occasionally known as Climate Change, Extreme Weather, and other euphemisms) is a religion. And like a religion, it's full of arbitrary, contradictory, self-affirming, shifting, and incoherent claims asserted as unassailable truth (immediately dropped the moment another becomes more advantageous) that literally anything can be true, for any reason, from any person, at any time.
Unchecked global polluting that could some day maybe in a long long long time start to actually affect the planet....ok I'll go with that. But not Climate change right now based supposedly on pollution. Lots of lies about actual temperatures and how they got them, yes. Some change from normal global weather changes that have been happening for millions of years and the earth will constantly be dynamic and constantly change..yes.
Gee maybe we can actually consider the freaking SUN too that, you know, heats the planet and is at some all time different levels with sun spots and all. Going through a normal cycle. But nobody every wants to consider the most obvious. I suppose the last ice age was from cavemen starting to learn to cook their food and burning to much dinosaur meat on to big a fire.
I don't disagree that we need to stop polluting though and am all for cleaning up the planet.

Let me just give you a little story on this "climate change" doomsday bullshit.
During WWII, Irena, got permission to work in the Warsaw ghetto, as a Plumbing/Sewer specialist. She had an ulterior motive.
Irena smuggled Jewish infants out in the bottom of the tool box she carried. She also carried a burlap sack in the back of her truck, for larger kids.
Irena kept a dog in the back that she trained to bark when the Nazi soldiers let her in and out of the ghetto. The soldiers, of course, wanted nothing to do with the dog and the barking covered the kids/infants noises.
During her time of doing this, she managed to smuggle out and save 2500 kids/infants. Ultimately, she was caught, however, and the Nazi's broke both of her legs and arms and beat her severely.
Irena kept a record of the names of all the kids she had smuggled out, In a glass jar that she buried under a tree in her back yard. After the war, she tried to locate any parents that may have survived and tried to reunite the family. Most had been gassed. Those kids she helped got placed into foster family homes or adopted.
In 2007 Irena was up for the Nobel Peace Prize.
She was not selected.
Al Gore won, for a slide show on Global Warming.
Now if the Doomsday clock was moved closer to 12 because of Iran I could believe it.
The only thing funnier than paying attention to the Doomsday Clock as if it was relevant is the idea that a candidate could do something about climate change even if it was an actual danger.
the candidate that takes climate change seriously and will do something about it

If anyone wants to believe that giving more money to first world politicians is going to save the planet, that's their business...I'm tired of these self-righteous environmentalists, these white bourgeois liberals who think the only thing wrong with this country is there aren't enough bicycle paths, people trying to make the world safe for their Volvos. There is nothing wrong with the planet. Nothing wrong with the planet. The planet is fine. The people are (bleep) -- difference, difference. The planet is fine. Compared to the people, the planet is doing great. It's been here four and a half billion years. Did you ever think about the arithmetic? The planet has been here four and a half billion years. We've only been engaged in heavy industry for a little more than 200 years.
Two hundred years versus four and a half billion, and we have the conceit to think that somehow we're a threat, that somehow we're going to put in jeopardy this beautiful little blue-green ball that's just a-floatin' around the sun? The planet has been through a lot worse than us, been through all kinds of things worse than us, been through earthquakes, volcanoes, plate tectonics, continental drift, solar flares,
sunspots, magnetic storms, the magnetic reversal of the poles, hundreds of thousands of years of bombardment by comets and asteroids and meteors, worldwide floods, tidal waves, worldwide fires, erosion, cosmic rays, recurring ice ages, and we think some plastic bags and some aluminum cans are going to make a difference? The planet isn't going anywhere. We are!
We're going away.

Still, to me thinking that these same greedy partisan politicians can save the planet seems arrogant...

inb4 someone calls Carlin an illiterate dumb hick conservative.
He gives far too little credit at just how destructive our ingenuity and greed can be.
inb4 someone calls Carlin an illiterate dumb hick conservative.
Well, he was a comedian. Second, he's actually agreeing with the "liberal position." Maybe people missed it?inb4 someone calls Carlin an illiterate dumb hick conservative.

Climate change got hijacked by left wing politics to push an agenda. The whole irony of it all is that radical measures (supposedly) needed to stop it would push a lot of lower class people into poverty, both in the west and abroad. It would raise the cost of living dramatically while pushing more jobs overseas. It certainly won't hurt the wealthy elite, or redistribute income outside of lining the pockets of politicians and unelected government officials.
People aren't stupid, and there's a reason why environmentalist politicians rarely get elected. Of course the over-the-top, apocalyptic rhetoric about humans being the scourge of the Earth probably has a bit to do with it too. Truth is, there hasn't been impending doom. Sudden natural disasters notwithstanding, the climate isn't going to dramatically shift overnight. Things just don't move that quickly on the cosmic scale. What is guaranteed is that the climate will change, whether man has a hand in it or not. Once it starts, you can't stop it. Nor should you expect to. You adapt, or you die.
I do agree we need to cut pollution. It's a major health issue. We also need to cut dependence on oil as a fuel. It would certainly put the brakes on a great deal of the geopolitical nonsense in the Middle East. We're already working on some pretty creative ways to solve those issues. I've gone on record supporting Tesla Motors' work. I'm also a big proponent of atomic energy being the fuel of the 21st century. It's time we sat back and looked at things logically, not emotionally like the IPCC and their supporters do.
Lastly, I want to mention how big a failure the "green economy" has been. I remember a few years ago the government here promising that it was going to be the savior of the province's economy. Those jobs never did materialize though. All those windmills and solar panels are built overseas, by a company the ex-premier's best friend works for. Any time and politician mentions "green economy", remember that it's a euphemism for "pork barreling".
As for the rest of the Doomsday Clock, I find their citation of atomic threats a bit puzzling. Aside from North Korea (which can't even produce a bomb as powerful as Fat Man and Little Boy), we're probably the furthest away from all out nuclear war than we have been in the last 60 years. Atomic weapons aren't all that practical in modern warfare. They're only effective against fixed enemy targets. You can't really nuke guerrilla fighters who aren't affiliated with nation-states. At least not without significant collateral damage.
