That's the fastest boot to playable Doom ever.
I doubt that doing the same with freedos would take longer, game has no sound under this linux distro so using DOS would be the same thing exactly.
And yes you can make a boot disk, that only has the essentials, of freedos and use only that.
Looks like a great way to make multiple boot entries for games you love to play without wasting any time with the OS UI.
So much more practical than just using bootable lakka that will have all of your games on a list and will you allow to switch from one to the other from the same menu instead of having to reboot and having no sound...

Seems to me the easiest way to play Doom, at least in most cases, would be to keep your Doom directory on a USB drive and just double click your sourceport/launcher of choice on just about any computer once the drive is inserted.
