:/ It had issues with > 1.5GB of RAM, not 0.5GB of RAM. I know this because I had previously been running it with 768 (3x256MB) and later 1.5GB (3x512) on PC-133 before upgrading to a DDR board.
Anyway, I for one am going to be inconvenienced by this, as I still do run Win98, and until Doom3 I haven't seen a game that would require XP. Now that the time has come though, I will definitely have to consider an upgrade.
For the naysayers who think that perhaps people using Win98SE are clueless morons, just consider how fun it is to hear that from say Mac elitists or Linux advocates.

I personally still use 98SE because I am a gamer and I paid for it. I use linux to do all my productivity work, and I keep Windows around on a 10GB partition for those games that just run better under Windows (FPSes primarily). Currently that 10GB is devoted entirely to BF1942+DC and UT2K4+a couple of mods. I guess for some of us it's that old adage of "if it ain't broke don't fix it".
