Hi,
just installed the game.. and ..
wow, this babe loads much much faster than Farcry.
very smooth (menu),

i am now running at 1024*768@medium quality.. i don't see any lag at all.. cuz i don't see much yet.
I am still using a pistol and fist.

however, i couldn't bring down the console menu.. "~" is the key i pressed, but the menu won't show, i guess i need to do something to the command line... how?

i want to see what frame i am getting..

After playing 30 minutes, the graphics amazed me. very smooth on walking. Controlling is good... Farcry doesn't have good control, u can't jump frequently.

i must try it tomorrow again after work... of course i don't want to get a nightmare tonite.

Why are you running on medium quality? Per the HardOCP Doom3 hardware requirements article you should be able to run at 1024x768 @ high quality with no problem. If you o/c the 9800XT you'd really be set.

i wish there was an option to keep your flashlite while shooting.
i am sick to death of just firing into voids hope i hit something.
i suppose i could crank the gamma, but thats cheap:(

i thought Farcry was great until D3...

the colour of farcry is superior, but control is not that great.
but in d3, it really gives u the horror feeling., however so far the background is ver dark.. u have to use ur flashlight to see.. otherwise it will be totally blank screen with some little lights on the ceiling.

i haven't seen any thing other than human(zombies) yet... i like to see one of those

Jgtdragon, what is ur system?

i don't see any spiders, i do see flying skulls, but i guess they are set not set to be killed yet.

yes i can bunnyhop, !! farcry u can't do this.!

i am now playing at 1280*1024@medium ., still playable..

i see i have 60fps all the time, sometimes dropped to 25fps, but doesn't matter in 1/10 second it will be back to 60fps again..

A buddy of mine is playing it right now...apparently it's very scary & runs like ass on his 1700+ with a 9800 Pro.

I'm gonna wait till i can buy it though :)

i guess i should tune up a bit, cuz i now i am running at 3.22ghz

i will try 3.42 tonite to see if it is stable.
just don't overclock the videocard i guess.

i haven't tried highering the gamma yet, i believe the game is meant to be this dark where if u don't use ur flashlight , u shouldn't be seeing anything

i got it. holy shizza is this game scary. i've died a few times. but that may be because i'm too scared to shoot straight. lol. time to start over on easy.

i hate the flashlight thing. it's annoying. i wish i could see. as much as it adds to the atmosphere, it's annoying as well. i hate shooting blindly.

Yeah, there are some people in the Gone Gold forum complaining about the constant darkness. Doesn't sound like my cup of tea, but I got a pre-order in at GoGamer so I guess I'm about to find out. Looks like Id is using the age old 'flashlight in dark creepy room' routine to create game tension. If that's the way the whole game plays I'll be disappointed.

I doubt it will be all that... flashlight stuff anyway.

I remember Doom2 when it first came out ALL TOO WELL! They get you really trembling with fear EARLY on. There will surely be a good mix of lighting and roomy levels...

Maybe just when you get used to the "dark" you step out into a well litted area and THERE IT IS!!! A Big Greasy Syber Demon Ho Bag!!! Waiting to shove his rocket launcher up your keester!! :D

I don't know if I want to play this game or not. Doom2 gave me Horrible nightmares when I played it! (Hey, the graphics of Doom2 were VERY convincing @ that time)

*trembles*
