Doom3 Bug?

My son is almost finished with the game. He has played for hours with no problems. All of a sudden he can't climb stairs or get off the top of a ladder. It acts like he is trying to make a move like "climb a wall" or something. I can go back to older savegames and everything is fine. basically he is stuck now at the freight loader section of the Site 3 map. if I have to reload the game at this point he is going to be pissed. any advice would be great.

Press Ctrl+Alt+~(Tilde) to bring up the command console then type noclip

This will enable you to walk through walls or in this case get off the ladder.

Then just Press Ctrl+Alt+~(Tilde) to bring up the command console again and type noclip to turn it off

Just make sure your clear of any objects (your guy's floating in the air a bit off the ground) or you'll be stuck in a wall/floor and you"ll have to type it again.
 
Game was patched when first loaded about 3 weeks ago. the noclip fix got him going again (thanks wellcky) but I wish I could fix it altogether. I am going to play from the last savegame that everything worked right and see if it borks again on this map.
 
Just an FYI its all good now. There are a total of 3 ladders and 3 sets of stairs that would not work. All stairs/ladders after them is fine just like those before. I played up to them from a prior savegame and the same steps/ladders were broken again.
