Doom vs Half-Life

Which game do you preffer and when the two new ones come out which one will you more likely buy. I still play the old doom, it is still a monument to shooting games.

I have never played HL, HL2, Doom, Doom2, CS, or Serious Sam. But I loved old Quake and now I love Battlefield 1942 and Desert Combat mod (play like 1-2 hours a day, I have a problem).
