I have to admit I enjoyed TDA more than I thought I would. There were a few parts that were annoying like when my shield glitched and wouldn't work. Turns out I had to throw it and suddenly it worked again. Then I got to the Dragon chapter and either its broken or I was doing something wrong.

It is a holdout of Doom Eternal where you have to "play it our way". You are supposed to dodge tank fire to empower your weapon so you can destroy them. It just didn't seem to work. I got frustrated and said screw it I'll try again later. Speaking of Eternal, this game is better IMHO. I do miss the grenade launcher on the shotgun and still sometimes find myself about to "use" it only to remember it's not there.

@DAPUNISHER

You have gamepass, have you tried TDA?

Not yet, have to finish Indy Jones and a couple of other games I am swapping between. It is on the short list though.

It runs surprisingly well considering my GPU. I'm pretty positive on it so far. Got to try that dragon crap again though. The mech chapter was pretty boring too.When you are ripping and tearing though it's typically good fun.

What GPU/specs again?

I figured out the dragon thing. A good nights sleep and not trying to figure out at nearly 5AM helps. I think I was pressing the sprint key rather than spacebar and I also found out you have to dodge in a certain direction. It's sort of a tutorial for the rest of the chapter which happens to be very long. I just finished it.

I haven't had such a low end card since probably the Rage 128 Pro. I wanted a 6700 XT but wasn't willing to pay for it, and forget the used Nvidia market. If this new generation of cards had come out sooner and at close to MSRP I would've grabbed one. Instead I am using a placeholder which is fine since I mostly play older games and it runs The Dark Ages surpisingly well.

You could be Psolord's cousin 😛

Mastered the art of correct settings if you can enjoy the latest game with just a 6600 XT!

-6600xt is a mainstream level card from 5 years ago, if it's playing the new hotness with settings turned down I don't think anyone is going to hold it against the card or user. It speaks more to the card and the game engine than anything else.

Again if you're dropping $400 clams on a new mainstream card today and having to turn down settings... That's where the PSOlords come out the woodwork.

I never claimed 8GB was enough or anything about right settings. It's the only game I've played newer than 2020's Doom Eternal so it's plenty for everything else I play. With this one game I just have to deal with it and make it work. Right now I'm running 1440p Medium with FSR and it works well enough.
