I was poking around on ebgames.com today - something I do once a week or so to check for any kind of deals - and I decided to see if they were still sticking with the same release date for Doom ]|[. But to my suprise, the game is no longer on their site at all. What gives? Has something happened with Doom?

Where have you guys been? They cancelled it due to the extremely high hardware requirements. No use trying to sell something nobody can play right?

Yeah, I was reading somewhere that they are going to put it off for like a year or so, that way their market will increase (not enough people will be able to run it right now).
 
Didn't they say back in May that doom 3 wasn't even going to be at E3?
Yea, In fact I'm positive gamespy and many others did.

really? I was kidding about the whole cancelled thing. Maybe they saw how good HL2 is gonna be and decided to focus more on gameplay to be a better competitor.
 
Good riddance. I was getting inferiority complex already b/c I wouldn't be able to play it (I don't have a $200 video card). So screw it. Life has become a lot better now.
 
It's gonna suck balls anyway just as Q3 and Q2 did. The only thing this game will be good for is a new engine that somebody else can license and turn into a game worth actually playing. To say that id's last couple of FPS games were lifeless would be an understatement.

Q2 single-player was Mostly Harmless but Q2 online was better than All The Fish.
