Doom III PC Gamer Issue...

I was browsing around in Software Etc. (I hate them) about two weeks ago or so and I saw an issue of PC Gamer that had a whole bunch of new Doom III screens on it. I was wondering (Because I hadn't heard about the leak) how those sceens got past me. There were high resolution picks and a whole article on the game. I went home and searched for the shots but I later found out the game had been leaked. I know that's old news but I went back to the store a few days after I had heard and I didn't see it anywhere. I went to another store that sold PC Gamer but they didn't have the issue either. Was that issue recalled or taken off the shelves by the power of id software? I've been wondering about it and was curious if anyone else had noticied this.

I really doubt that was the case, seeing as that the pc gamer came out quite a while before the Doom III alpha got leaked.

Dear Lord....you guys are kidding, right? You can't be serious, can you? OK kids, gather 'round and let the Ref smack some knowledge into your heads!

A couple of months back, PC Gamer did a cover story on Doom 3 with tons of screen shots. Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe...ID INVITED THEM DOWN TO GIVE THEM A SNEAK PREVIEW IN EXCHANGE FOR THE INEVITABLE COVER STORY AND EXCITEMENT IT WOULD CAUSE?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Nothing was "leaked" and the reason the issue disappeared was either because it sold out or it was time to put out the NEW issues! It does happen once a week or month - they change the magazines. Duh.

Also, to think that a major publication would cut down a ton of trees to run leaked screenshots is just weak. Web sites are more immediate and can post info quickly...and have it ordered down just as quickly, but the turnaround time for a glossy color mag is considerable.

THINK!!!

Alright then, don't gotta be a cock.

There's a lotta grumpy people on the forums... or maybe the guy is just having a bad day, it happens to all of us... or maybe Hot Deals is just slow? 😀

Oh, it's you, idNut...I didn't notice who was posting...it figures.

Why is it when people go nuts and spew nutty paranoia like, "M$ is reading my mind!" or "Id yanked PC Gamer cuz they leaked a ton of hi-rez screenshots." and I slap some chill into their pills, everyone gets all pissy? Y'all are the ones babbling nonsense. It's not my fault you're seeing black helicopters flying out of Mesquite.
