The only way I would buy another ATI anything is if Nvidia goes out of business.

That basically makes anything you post in the video forum irrelevant then. It shows a complete lack of objectivity.
At least he he honest about his preference unlike some of the other trolls around here that claim to be neutral while their posts clearly prove otherwise.

Fair enough. I just find it impossible to have an intelligent discussion with these people. What's the point in discussing the differences between a 6800U/X800XT when you'll buy the 6800U "unless nVidia goes out of business" anyway? The same goes for the rest of the folks on here with an intense amount of brand loyalty.
You are preachin to the choir brother! 🙂

Not necessarily, he is just declaring his preference. Now you know where he stands and can take that into consideration when you read his replies, unlike some who have an obvious preference but attempt to make that bias sound like simple facts in their replies. I respect his being honest and open in his views, There are already enough duplicitous fanbois who twist data to suit their agenda 'round here 😉

Because what he buys personally doesnt reflect upon on what he reccomends?

I only buy NVIDIA after the dismal driver problems with my 9700p, but i always lay out ATi options when reccomending cards.

Well, I respect his honesty, and I can understand that a bad experience with a product can jade you towards a company. I have the same sentiments towards MSI so I suppose I'm equally biased, just in another area.

I didn't intend my post to be an insult towards the guy.

I'm not so sure about that. I would never reccomend something to someone unless I would buy it myself.

I reccomend ATi here more or less to appease the crowd... as soon as you mention the driver juggle, 143 fanbois jump in to tell me what kind of problems they didnt have and that driver cleaner or me not being an idiot fixes the problem...

Sorry, let me get this straight: you're calling other people "fanbois"?

But it was objectivity that brought me to my current thinking. I don't dislike ATI but I don't prefer them either. My objectivity is just fine Sickbeast even though you say I lack it. These forums aren't just for bickering for who is best remember. It's also to help users with their problems. Sometimes people forget this and only associate these forums with a fanboy type. Well, who cares. I know who I am and you can't possibly. If you can't handle my opinions and try to discredit my views, well it's no skin off my nose. Go right ahead. In the end, the one with the level head will have the most respect and not someone trying to discredit anything I post in a blanket statement. Thanks man.

Oh, yeah.. Nvidia and ATI design GPU's. Is that irrelevant?

I have brand loyalty for specific reasons that may differ from your reasoning methods. Please accept that. You can very well have a conversation with me about anything in here. If I disagree, I will definately let you know about it. And if you disagree, I'd hope you would do the same.

Hey no offense taken. I hope you feel the same way. It's not easy getting along in here. 😉
