Doom 3 Problem

Okay heres the problem. I go to "load game" and double click the game I want to load. It happens to be a quick save. The first time I tried to load, the bar looked like it was all the way loaded, but it shutdown the game and went to my desktop with no error showing. I tried it again after restarting and it the load bar only got about half way than brought me back to the main doom screen. I tried it again and it just locked up the main screen. WTF is going on?

It sounds like an overclocking problem - either the game doesn't want to load (CPU is too overclocked? FSB? Video card?) or maybe a corrupted save file, often caused by an unstable overclock.

If you're not overclocking at all, and your system is running perfectly fine otherwise, it could just be a corrupted save file. Do any other autosaves load for you, or do they crash just like the quicksave?

I am overclocking. I have a 2500+, but its only at 2.03 ghz. I overclocked my 9800 non pro pretty far though. Think that would cause it? Shouln't I just see artifacts?

Carmack warned overclockers and stated that Doom III is very sensitive for overclocking

Your processor is probably ok. But try setting your 9800 back to stock speeds and see what happens. If everything runs okay, you can go back to overclocking it again, but go with little steps until it gets unstable again. Then back down a bit.

I have one more question. I don't know if anyone will know what i'm talking about but here it goes. I just started doom 3 and im supposed to go find some scientist. I try to get in the elevator but as soon as i click the button it goes to a load screen than shuts down my game? help?
