Shipping is $5.99, killing the deal. It'll be better to wait until it's released and pick it up locally on sale. I doubt every store will sell out.

But if you really want to pre-order, GameStop and Amazon have two decent deals when pre-ordering both Doom 3 and Half-Life 2.

But you must pre-order from EBGames so that you can get the ever-so-cool Pinky the Demon figurine! 54.99 pre-order. Actually its a pewter figurine, kinda cool I guess.

Why do people preorder games? They always sell them for cheaper than the preorder price after they come out :confused:

Cuz some ppl just can't wait for 1-2 weeks while others are fragging like mad. kinda like sex, ppl dont like to just watch others have sex, they want to do it too asap.
btw, I ordered mine at ebgames. used the $20 coupon I got from buying Ut2004.

Wait until it comes out- it's sure to be discounted at all the usual places- BestBuy, Circuit City, Target, etc.

I remember the day Quake 3 came out in 1999, I borrowed a friend's car to get it from the gamestop in a mall. That was a pretty good day.

Q3 was awesome, until I found Unreal Tournament! The classic version is still the best!

Good luck. I repped for Activision last X-mas, when they began rolling out the Doom3 preorders. The buzz from the higher-ups was that Doom3 was going to be a "premium" title, and the MSRP would be at $59 out the door. If you're going to see any deals, it'll be for $49, not $39.

$49 for a mostly SP game is too much for me. It can stay "premium" on the shelves until the price drops.

Doom 3 has fantastic MP experience. At least that's what beta testers say.

For the most part, "Doom 3" is a single-player game. Multiplayer elements will only support up to four players...

I guess time will tell if 4 person MP is up to the challenge.

The first real test will be QuakeCon 2004 as there is supposed to be a Doom3 Tourny :) See you all in Dallas next month!

That limit will change soon. BTW, isn't 1v1 the most popular form of competition in Q3? Even for FFA deathmatch, more than 4 ppl on a map is just a mess or spam.

I wonder if there will be any 6800/Doom 3 bundle deals. I was holding out on preordering D3 in hopes that there would be a DVD version, but since that isnt going to happen a D3/6800 bundle would be best. I'm holding out on both till the price drops, but put them together and at under a 6800GT's MSRP and you have yourself a deal.

Not a price of $100, so hold back on the cheap/"yeah right" jokes.
