Doom 3 Jitters Help Please

Hi, I just bought an X800 XT with the expectations of running Doom 3 on the hightest qualities at 16*12. However, I am seeing jitters when playing the game. I know my processor is slow, but I still thought the GPU would more than make up for it.

I ran a 3dmark 03 before installing ATI's 4.11 drivers and recieved a score in the 10K range. Here is my specs any suggestions is appreciated.

Doom 3
16*12
Everything On
4x AA

P4 2.4C (Not overclocked)
Asus Mobo
X800XT OC to PE speeds. 520/560
1GB RAM

My CPU runs stable overclocked to 3.2. I havn't yet tried running Doom 3 with the CPU overclocked, would this help much? Doesn't overclocking limit the speed of your FSB? My BIOS says my FSP is running at 266 Dual Channel when overclocked to 3.2 (~35% increase).

Any suggestions on how to improve performance would be great. Also how do I check my frame rates in Doom 3?

OC is done one of two ways (or a combination of both) (1) increasing the FSB, or (2) increasing the cpu's multiplier.

Now I don't play around with Intel chips ATM, but I thought they were multi locked. Thus the only way to OC those w/b to increase the FSB. In any case, you won't lower the FSB by increasing the multi.

Go HERE, it's tweak guide, and has the console commands. The one to show your framerate on screen while playing is listed under Benchmark.

To test your FPS while online type "com_showfps 1" at the console
