Doom 3 expansion question

Hello,

Recently I have been playing the doom 3 expansion. This is my first time through and I am playing on NIGHTMARE difficulty.

I was wondering if anyone know why my life keeps being reduced to 25?

Whenever I heal myself it's like it gets reduced from 100 to 25. 5 at a time. There is a funny "BUEREo" noise each time life gets sucked from me?

Is this supposed to be happening?

Thanks

I didnt mind the life drain but the noise was so fvcking annoying that I went into the config file and stopped it from happening.

So let me get this straight. In order to make it difficult, id couldn't have been bothered with making better AI, so it just takes lots of life away? Bah.

It could be worse they could make all monsters revive after 60 seconds like they did originally :p.

Also what game really increases AI for harder difficulty settings. I mean thief expands the vision of enemies slightly but for the most part harder difficulty simply means that you have less life and that enemies have more life and that there are possibly more enemies as well.

That's true. Sometimes I just wonder what's different between nightmare and rookie. The enemies are still stupid. Just hard to kill.

There are more monsters in Hard+ and they have more life and they do more damage and (drum roll) on Nightmare the only health you can get are from the stations!

I know what you mean but when a company invests so much in AI theyre going to include the best they can in all settings.
