Doom 3 Comic

People still actually use Windows98? Poor ignorant people.

I need to go put on my shirt: NO. I will not fix your computer.

😀

IT should have read "goodbye cru <click click buzz> This program has run an illegal operation...". I think windows 98 wouldnt be able to commit suicide before it randomly commited suicide like it always does.

Correct me if I'm wrong...but Doom 3 runs fine in Win98, right? You just can't install it because of their stupid version check in the install file. This also prevents it from "running" on Windows 2003. A quick edit of the .msi file fixes this, it runs fine in 2003, and runs fine in 98 from what I've heard.

Yes, running 98 is kind of silly...but when the game SHOULD run fine and doesn't because of some arbitrary install check, that's also kind of stupid.

And before anyone says anything, I have a good reason to have 2003 on my desktop. Yes, I do server stuff on it. Yes, the copy is legal. No, I'm not interested in your personal opinion on this topic 😀

lol yeah I know you can get it to run on 98 and so on, I just thought it was funny, so you can stop correcting it now lol.

I'm not a poor ignorant person... I just happen to have a legitimate, non-pirated license for Win98, and don't have a legitimate license for winxp. Processor is an Athlon 1000, so not that obsolete yet.

Should I plunk down $100 for WinXP for what will amount to a loss? (in fact, my audio card will not function with my motherboard under WinXP)

Off looking at itself in the mirror. Technologically interesting, functionally useless.
Heh. I was one of like eight people to install that.

I think it was in 2000. Very hard to get up and running. I basically stared at the command prompt, said "Yup", and rebooted to Debian.
