Feel free to post any pictures of unidentified doodads you encounter.

Found this ivory color plastic thing in the attic of the house I rent:

Board game piece? The smooth side isn't perfectly flat, so it's probably not meant to stand on its own. The peg side probably goes into a small hole on something?

Maybe one of those things that pins up a drop ceiling? I'm talking about the manufactured ceilings that don't rest in metal rails. I'm not familiar enough to know exactly how they go together, but they have nubbies every so often.

Does have a place you can write something on it?

Still think its the upper half of a push pin we need more angles!

Is it notched on the shaft?

It looks like either a toy UFO on a stick or an air diffuser knob for a ceiling vent.

Looks like it inserts into something, like on a product where there's a long hole and a recessed screw, then this thing goes into the hole to hide the screw. Like a piece of furniture or something.

That or maybe some kind of button on a piece of equipment or something.

Some kind of foot. For a toy, a kitchen appliance, or any of a million other things. Whatever it was, the thing was stored in the attic and the foot fell off when it was moved. The ribs on the shaft likely were designed to hold it in place.
