And it's not being released for the PC?

I browse spike.com [use to be IFILM - now it's Spike TV's website] on a daily basis and they have a section called "Top Shelf Tuesday" - news about dvd's, games, music, etc.

2 new games in today's article - description/screenshots make me want to know more! However, clicking on the link to the game website I am greeted by 2 things that sadden me - the age requirement box and "pre-order or released for XBOX360/PS3". Hell - the consoles even get a demo!! It seems the PC's rarely get demo's anymore. 🙁

I am sad. I really don't want to cave in and have to get a console.. 🙂

dunno man - there are so many cool games i can play on the pc that it doesn't bother me so much. I don't wanna get into the whole grass is greener mindset and take what i have already for granted 🙂

Actually, it doesn't bother me. There's that initial moment of "Damn!", but after a few minutes I relax. Generally, I've found that games designed solely for consoles lack the depth, precise control, intensity, creativity, imagination, and replayability of PC games.

Dontcha just hate it when the OP doesn't list the games he's talking about in a game thread?

I hear that Capcom will not release Super Street Fighter 4 for PC (at least for a while) and that pisses me off. Granted I own both PS3 version and PC version but I like the graphics/mods on PC a lot and the game isn't an overly complex one (it runs on arcade machines that are PC's).

Stop being a PC Elitist and stop limiting yourself to a single platform.

Not another one of these threads. If you want a console then buy a 360 or PS3 and don't look back.

Sorry, but after having a 360 for 3 years it's obvious PC is a superior platform. It only ever gets any use when I'm playing with friends. Playing games at 1280x720, or in the case of MW2 1024x600, just isn't that fun when compared to 1920x1200.

This is why I own a gaming PC, PS2, PS3, and 360.

I might get a wii eventually too but I'm not a Mario or Zelda fan.

Pretty much the same for me except I have a backwards compatible PS3 so I have no need for a PS2 any longer. I have no interest in the wii.

The used game market for consoles is great for me as I can pick up titles for cheap or sell newer releases for a decent price after I finish them. Ever since that market basically disappeared on the PC side because of DRM and other crap, i've been less and less interested in keeping up with the newest releases. Since I'm not able to sell PC games and make money back toward newer purchases, I rarely purchase new games any longer. I guess this is why you see relatively new PC releases drop to $20 after a few months. Good for us but terrible for the industry as a whole.

Yeah the single platform mentality doesn't work well if you're really a true, die hard gamer.

The price of one video card (enthusiast mind you) is roughly the same as buying a new console. But truth be told, there hasn't been anything absolutely ground breaking for me to want to warrant buying a console this generation. The PS2 was a different story, and of the course the Gameboy Advance / Nintendo DS.

You know what's really pissing me off as a gamer? I'm trying to build a modern Mame-like cabinet and I don't have the damn room for it. 🙁

Real gamers cover all their bases. A 360 is only $200 these days.

To that groundbreaking bit, what about the Wii? Sure most of the games aren't good for it but has brought motion control to the masses. Now if only we could move it out of the gimmick stage.

It does not really happen much to me. I get most of my new game news from this forum, so maybe that's why.

I have a Wii along with my PC, but only for my kids and for Mario/Zelda titles. Otherwise, my view point is that the "hardcore" gaming experience is better on a PC than on a console, so why waste my time? That and my immense hatred of game pads for first person shooters. I just can't do it.

Don't feel too jealous about Bayonetta PS3 version. I'm pretty patient but the reviews have been wildly understating how much loading there is in this game. Think Mass Effect elevators that need to go up and down several times before you finish loading an area. I'll probably never finish it unless it comes to the PC or I pick up a 360.

There are definitely games that are worth picking up a PS3 for though: Uncharted 1/2, Valkyria Chronicles, Killzone2, Infamous, LittleBigPlanet, Wipeout HD, Demon Souls, Resistance 2 among others. Of course, there are other good things you can do with $500 too.

i would definitely consider getting a console if they had support for a mouse and a keyboard in all games, and an OS...and internet connection...and good graphics that can be updated...

and if they made intelligent games not just button mashers and side-scrolling run&jump games, and no epileptic-seizure-causing-popping-numbers-that-get-ADHD-kids-cream-in-their-pants.

waiter, 1 PC for me please, thanks.

Borealis7: for every side-scrolling run & jump console game there is a completely terrible PC game, too. Every single gaming platform has some complete crap-ware games - the PC is not excluded.

And for that matter, since when is the Wii the only console on the market? Because I'm pretty sure it's all that you're thinking of. The Xbox 360 and PS3 have intelligent games. Don't pretend that PC and consoles don't often have the exact same games. Please explain to me how Fallout 3 on the PC is any more "intelligent" than Fallout 3 on a console.

Finally, get over the keyboard & mouse. Gaming does not require 104 buttons. When it does, I'll absolutely make sure I always have a keyboard at my ready while gaming. As for a mouse, please play a console shooter online and explain to me why you get killed every three seconds if aiming without a mouse is impossible.
