Don't some of you, who know, think its funny when people ship stuff like cd's, games, etc for like 6 bucks when they could easily label it media mail and ship it with DC for like 1.80, i laugh when i see post on for sale/trade forums and people say how it isn't cheap to ship and price is like 5 dollars for shipping. 😀

I find it a lot less than funny. Shipping is up there along with taxes and insurance. I'm in Alaska, and the overwhelming majority of online retailers have a deal with UPS so that they will not ship with any other carrier. But that means the cheapest available shipping is 2nd Day Air, because there is not Ground shipping to Alaska.

Therefore, 99% of all Hot Deals are ruined for me, and all the other Alaskans and Hawaiins.

Uh "media mail" from Usps is what i'm talking about.....you can ship computer releated software/games/music cd's anything like that for only like 1.33 with delivery conformation its like 1.83, heh i guess a lot of people don't know about it. Sorry for you alaska and hawaii people.

For most things, 1st class mail is the same price.

Media Mail gets worthwhile when you're shipping ultra-heavy stuff...And don't forget that Media Mail can take about 2 weeks to get across the country :Q

Look at how much they charge for memory. In the neighborhood of $8-15. You can ship a memory that isn't worth whole alot for $.34. Pay about $1.20, you can wrap it up in tin-foil, stick it in PVC pipe and ship it in envelope. I wouldn't ship without the PVC pipe, because I bet it'll arrive snapped in half.
