Don't you think DELL.COM needs a redesign?

Ever since I can remember, Dell.com has always had its current design. It's not really that big of a deal, considering that they're the #1 PC maker in the world, but for a company that's so into efficiency and 'bleeding edge' processes, don't you think they'd streamline their website a little more (at least the front page)?

I dunno - it's just a personal opinion, but the site seems to be getting a little long in the tooth.

They need to be whacked upside the head for screwing up an $40,000 ram order rather than getting a page redisgn.

Actually I work a floor above some of the infodev folks that design the site, but I don't imagine they have any plans to change the design anytime soon, unless some kind of new corporate branding comes along.

Suprisingly enough, dell is #2 in the computer world - right behind HP. I couldn't believe this when I heard it.

Don't ask me for proof.

it's really inconsistent between sections. there are a umber of poor design choices, and they simply must purge Steven from the site

Dell was #1, but the merger made HPAQ #1 in total market share.

Compaq was #1 in part of the world with Dell being #2, and in the rest of the world it was the other way around. HP had a decent share too though, so when HP bought Compaq the numbers of those 2 were added together, thus making HP #1 overall.

And no, the site does not need a redesign. Any site going through a redesign each year is gay. If it sucks so hard that it needs a redesign you just hired the wrong people do design it in the first place.

I find it somewhat confusing to navigate sometimes, maybe it's just that they have too many models that are all actually the same or nearly the same...hard to say.

I think the site sucks overall though.
