I'm laughing but I remember, a few years ago...

Our king Baudouin did not want to sign the law on abortion, but he did not want his refusal to stop the progress of democracy, so the king was declared "Unable to reign" for a day ! Crazy...

Many people wanted him to resign because of this.

<< your just mad because Gore lost >>

Is that going to be a typical Republican response to all criticism of Bush for the next four years?

Just because Gore lost doesn't mean we can't make fun of Dubya :)

I notice Democrats crying foul that 5 republican/ conservative justices voted the way that they did, but not a peep that the 4 Democrat/liberal justices voted thier political leanings too. But its OK for them to do that, right? And it was OK for the Democrat Florida Supreme Court to vote along thier political leanings too, because they are democrats, right?

The people voted. It was counted, recounted, sued, appealed, and dragged through court every which way, and Bush still won.

The end.

Isnt it true that 6 of the 9 judges are republicans? so how can they be just if they are Bush pawns.

because democrats always lie more than republicans, it's the way the world works. that's the simplified way to look at it. and as others have pointed out, the liberals are pawns of Gore, as you would put it, every bit as much as the conservatives are "pawns of Bush".

The main thing is that the next president of the United States of America, probably the most powerful person in the world, is going to be 'elected' because of a bunch of Americans who don't give a sh*t (yeah I'm talking to the 50+% of you who didn't vote), and not be a person the majority wants......just a random pick from the only two parties you have over there. That's ridiculous.

i completely agree with that, prodigy. it definitely is a a bunch of BS, but the people do have other choices, they just choose to be sheep.

<< Yes, the U.S. Supreme Court has decided the question. It was decided by Republican judges in favor of a Republican Presidential candidate. Democracy failed here in America. >>

chess9

So where is your post saying how democracy failed when the Florida Supreme Court, which has NO republicans, voted in favor of the democrats?

chess9 is very quickly making himself look like the biggest crybaby this little BBS has seen. I guess that's his right, the Republicans have whined and cried for the last 8 years. This blubbering obviously hasn't done a lot for the Republicans image, I'm not sure what people like chess9 think it will do for them.

A few side notes:

1) A president cannot declare war. Congress is the only body that can officially declare war on another country.

2) In all likelihood, nothing will change in the election process even despite the obvious major problems discovered this time.

3) In some sports, in order to win, a player must have a minimum lead. For example, in some of the olympic volleyball, in Tennis, etc.

4) The bigger tragedy is that 48% of people expressed that they didn't care about the election (by not voting) in such a close race.
