Dont you love it when people on Ebay dont respond to emails?

I purchased a game for my cousins Christmas gift on ebay, from a person with 100% feedback. I thought there would ne no communication problems. I emailed them last Friday about when the game would be shipped (my cousin is leaving town this Sunday). I figured this guy will have no problem getting this game to me in 9 days, afterall, I paid for priority shipping. He did not respond to the email. I thought maybe he just had a long and busy weekend and hadnt gotten around to it. So I dropped him another email on Monday, and here it is Wednesday night and I havnt heard a thing.

**UPDATE**

Well, it is Saturday now and the mail truck just came. Guess what? No game, now its off to Worst Buy to purchase this game before my cousin leaves tomorrow. He had 8 business days to get this game here, and it did not arrive. I paid for priority shipping which is 2-3 days (I will say 4 just because of the bad weather we had this week). That means he had 4+ days to go to the post office and mail it. I sent three emails over these last 9 days, and did get a single reply. I wonder if he has even yet shipped the game.

The kicker is I cannot leave any sort of neutral/negative feedback because he will just retaliate and ruin my 100% feedback.

ugh...

It's not just eBay. Companies are the same way. Why do they bother to solicit emails when they don't respond?

I'd give a nuetral for poor communications. Even in the event that they're gone for some reason and can't fulfill their business obligations, they could at least have an autoreply to let you know.

I'd like to, but I want to avoid a retalitory neg on my clean record. If the game comes by Sunday, I will just give him a positive and move on...

Actually, I love it when I'm selling crap and it goes for a really low price for no reason other than ebay is geigh. Because then I can pull out the contract on the buyer and be like yeah, not my problem. Of course, I don't report themn or anything, but it's still nice.

I don't think I've received a feedback in my last 10 sells, all went perfectly fine and I left them feedback w/ reminder emails to return the favor.

People just don't take the 10 seconds required for courtesy feedbacks and communications anymore.

what really torques my torch is when i trade/sell something on AT FS/FT and they are slow responding to PMs and e-mails.

i've got 2 items waiting for feedback from people who bought stuff from me.
transactions went perfect and i've asked them to leave feedback at least 2 times now.

heh, i ordered something once and never got a reply email. i sent a pretty angry email to them and here i find out they had to leave due to hurricane katrina.
i kinda felt bad and apologized.

of course they could have lied to me too, but oh well. took like 3 weeks to get the stuff too. they gave me a $5 refund too because it took so long. i think it was only $20 worth that i spent.

i hate when people have something up and then go on vacation. if you're going to be there, don't put the item up!!

As someone who makes a living on Ebay, I try my best to give the best possible service. The feedback I have received is great, and in fact, in my auctions I state, "please, pretty please, with sugar on top, please read through my feedback." 😀

It helps, people do and are comfortable buying from me, and I have had a handful of repeat buyers, even though I am selling high-priced goods. When people send me $$ for an item, they get an e-mail confirming that I have received their payent, and when I will ship the item out (usually same day, or next business day). After it ships, they get another e-mail with a tracking number.

Communication is KEY. Quick and informative responses make the customer feel they are being treated like an actual customer, and certainly makes them feel more comfortable about their high-dollar purchase over ebay.

People who are slow at responding upset me, no matter where I am selling. I always respond within 24 hours, and usually within the hour. I know people may not check their email as much as I do, but when you are selling goods you have to take some responsobility and communicate with your customers.

I hate it when you sell an item, then the guy says he'll send you a money order and 2 weeks go by without payment... Then, you send a unpaying bidder notice and the guy just responds with "I'm still going to pay for the item" instead of saying he already sent payment or whatever... This bastard right now is wasting my time with a couple hundred bucks I really need.

I know what its like to be in your situation...I feel your pain. 🙁

If people left negs when the seller deserved them, instead of worrying about retaliatory negs, there would be a lot fewer bad sellers.

Just use one ID when selling, and a different one when buying. Then you don't have to worry.

How can you trust eBay to get you something in 9 days.

I needed something rushed once and I bought on Sunday night, got it Tuesday. This was because he was from LA (I'm from NorCal) and so priority mail will get there asap. Moreover, I asked him before and he said I would be able to get before Friday (when I needed it).

I've bought items on Ebay that took 2 weeks to come even after a confirmation on the same day...

Im currently sitting on an item i sold on ebay that i cant sell for 5 more days, because the douche that won it hasnt responded at all.

You have to wait 2 weeks before filing for no items received.

In the perfect world, everybody would use FedEx Priority Overnight, shipping is $5 for everything, and you'll be at home when the FedEx guy/gal rings the bell. Unfortunately, the world is filled with a holes who ignore your email intentionally, get back to you 2 weeks later w/ some lame excuse, or charge you overnight shipping while they ship the item using media mail.

Leave the asshat a negative and put a link to this thread in the comments box. Unless the guy's dead, he better get back to me within 48 hours or it's negative for him.

Just wait for him to leave you a positive than leave him a negative? I haven't done this before so I don't know if feedback can be changed these days (used to be it was final).

ebay said 7 days to file a dispute

i want the auction to complete before xmas 🙁

The reason why ebay feedback is all but meaningless. The only thing that counts is when someone has >10 or 15% negative. Otherwise, it's still a crapshoot.
