Don't you just hate problems that make no sense?

We have a new Manager who started two weeks ago. Set him up in Exchange, NT, etc. Today he lets me know that Outlook 98 will not let him accept meetings and he cannot add new calender events. I take a look at it and agree with him. An error about an unknown error with Windows Messenging. No big deal, just reinstall Outlook. Doesnt fix. I figure i'll delete his profile on the PC and recreate it. Doesnt work.

I decide to get into more extreme fixes. I test his account at another machine and verify that it does not work anywhere. So i decide to export his email, delete his mailbox and then recreate it. Doesn't work. Now i am stumped. So i decide to create a new mailbox with a different variation on his name(new alias, display name, etc.). Doesnt work. I finally decide to completely delete his user name on NT, mailbox, and all other things pertaining to him. After recreating everything(new user name, new mailbox) it still doesnt work.

I'm going to lunch. My head is about to explode after 4 hours of fighting with it.

try creating a completely new user and a new mailbox
then look very very closely at settings for existing users and compare them to the new one.

Hate problems like that

we did that. our normal convention is initials, we tried first.last, and first initial.last. It has something to do with the name. We just cant figure out what.
