don't you just hate "only head-in parking"?

Seriously, I don't know what the purpose is for parking security to regulate how we park our car. I mean.....what's the difference between
butt-in and head-in? I am not saying that I park butt-in all the time. In fact, I have only done that for once (and of course, I received a ticket) I just don't know what their logic is. It's not like I am taking two parking space instead of one...so why do they care how I park my car? That's stupid....anyone can offer me an explanation as to why only head-in parking is allowed?

if there is a parking meter it is because they get hit more often from people backing in... same can be said if there is a fence or fancy curb.. or something stupid they don't want to you run into

other than that they do it to be asses

maybe it's because you don't have lights in the front that light up when you're in reverse

Not positive, but I think it's when you have 1-way traffic down the parking rows, so to go butt in you either have to back in & go against the flow, or if you pull through then you'll be going the wrong way when you leave the space, I think.

I don't think these three explanations are really valid. I mean...it's not totally wrong from what you guys say..but there is gotta have a better (or stupier) reason for it.

Ok...a meter pole can be hit whether you park butt-in or head-in...of course, butt-in would be more likely...but how many time does that happen?
Not that often I would say.
And I don't see why I need a light in the front of car when I reverse......maybe I misread your post?
Yo-ma-ma's argument is good...but I don't think it's valid. For example, if our car is park head-in and we were leaving, naturally, we would have to back up our car and to do that would go against the flows of 1-way traffic in parking lots. So...either way is going to get us trouble to just fit in the flow of 1-way traffic.
See my point?

Do you live in a state where there are only license plates on the back of the vehicle? If so, that's why.

on diagonal spaces for 1 lane flows it would be damn hard to back in.. then try and pull out without smashing to hell all 4-5 cars around you

if you're in a parking lot, the white light on the back of your car lets people know to get out of your way.

Yeah, it would be hard. But just because it's hard there is no valid reason to stop people from doing this. If people think it's too hard they will not try it....so I assume the driver who decide to park butt-in must know what they are doing.

<< You could buy a VW Bettle or Audi TT and just confuse them. >>

ROFL.

Are parking permits on the back or front window of the cars? Maybe they want em a certain way so someone can walk down the aisles and check the permits quickly?

I know that. But don't you think it's easier to leave a parking space when you can see whether there is a car coming right in front of you? In the case of "head-in" parking..you would have to check mirror, turn your head and stuff to make sure there is no car. The matter gets worse if the car next to you is a minivan or a bigger car than yours.

that's why you pull out slowly. i think if people parked rear end in, they'd come out a lot quicker, which would be more dangerous. when people back up, for the exact reasons you mentioned, they usually do so a lot slower, which is safer for everybody.

Well, what do you guys say? Pulling out slowly is safer? Or having a better view of the traffic is safer? huh? a poll maybe?
