I am trying to backup files from HD to CD....so I compile a list of stuff I want to copy to CD, well....it seems like Nero is doing what it's supposed to do...but when I pop out the CD...it's still untouched! Nothing is written! WTF! it just spent 5 minutes showing the burning process! Where did it burn to?

Mmmm....anyone knows why it shows image recorder is? That seems to be the problem

Check to see if you're just doing test burns and not actual burns.

Dude, I feel your pain. I reformatted last night and after a fresh install I'm pretty sure the devil is living somewhere on my hard drive. Or it could just be the catalyst drivers... One or the other

Are you sure you selected teh "write" option on not just the "simulation" option? If onyl the image recorder is showing up then Nero is not recongizing your drive, and burned it to an image on your hd somewhere.

Make sure your Nero is the one that came "bundled" with your CDRW drive. Otherwise, you will only get the image recorder.

Try Nero Express, should have installed with Nero, it will work with any burner AFAIK, for me at least.

On the menu bar at the top of Nero, click on "Recorder", and then click "Choose Recorder". Change it from "Image Recorder" to your burner.

Of course if your burner isn't listed, then you've got other problems.
