I just found a check from my brother dated September 9, 2000, which I never cashed. Good thing it's my brother, though. I just sent him a "Happy Birthday" and "By the way, you owe my $55" email. :D

Why does he owe you anything, unless he stopped payment on the check it is still good.

I usually don't cash my checks for months. I just never get around to it. Ofcourse my most important checks are direct deposited, still sometimes I'll be cleaning out my wallet and find 4-5 checks. Always pisses off the people who wrote them out to me. :)

For my birthday i always recieve checks from relatives... Well when i had just turned 13 i had about 7 checks ready to deposit, so i deposited them at the MAC, and after a week of not seeing a deposit shown on my account my mom called to see what the hell was going on... Well it turned out, me being the 13 year old i was, FORGOT TO SIGN EVERY CHECK, luckily the credit union let me have my money back, AFTER A 20 DOLLAR DEDUCTION ON EVERY CHECK, DAMN!!! Well i learned the importance of endorsing checks that day...

I had a rebate check from Western Digital that I forgot about for months. When I remembered it, it had already expired. :(

I figured the check is probably still good, but I wanted to make sure that he still had the bank account and that he was aware that a $55 check was going to clear shortly (not that it would matter -- he's making big bucks).

And to think, all this time he's been using the GPS I sold him for free! :D

heheh, i've always tried to cash my checks ASAP... but i had written out a deposit slip and slapped the check in my checkbook (didn't rip out the deposit slip just yet)... i put it down sayin I would get it later... well, a few months down the road, i pick up my checkbook again (notice how i rarely use it :p) and wham, a $50 check.

I've forgotten to endorse checks in the past....they always take them. Guess living in a small town has some benefits...

The problem was that he gave me the check when we were visiting the High Musuem in Atlanta (my parents, my brother and his wife, my wife and I). I had purchased a small print in a large bag, and the check went into that bag as well. Since I didn't have the print framed (yet), it's been sitting around in the bag. I was about to throw the bag away, and lo and behold the check floated to the floor. :)
