Don't you hate when people act like they know

I hate it when people get a little bit of knowledge and then they start talking about something and they totally screw it up.
Example My mom bought my son (or me since I will take it) a PS2. Ok she does all this research and tries to find a good price. (see my rant post on PS2 Price fixing). Ok so she calls me last night and says she bought one. I say wow mom great. She says yep all you have to do is buy the video card so he can save games. ? I say WHAT? What video card. She says she talked with the man for a long time at the store and he told her she would need to buy a video card to save games. DOH!!!
I tried to explain to but alas I have in and told her I would buy the video card.
Sad, just sad.

I was trying to sell a comp. I built to my wife's boss. She ends up talking to this other girl who "know's all about computers" and she tells her not to buy something that someone built, because all of the components are from different manufacturers and they won't be compatible. WTF? Then she goes on to say, get a Dell, then you're sure to get all compatible components.

I'd rather sell to someone that trusts me, anyway. The doubters are always the ones who call you two weeks later saying "That computer you sold me is a piece of $hit! All I did was load AOL, realplayer, gator. . ."

I like building computers but the tech support sucks. Everytime a yahoo loads something on it and it gets all screwy I am over there reloading it or trying to figure it out. I had a guy who bought a computer WAY BACK.. it was an AMD K5. He called to ask why we did not put a burner in it... ummm cuz they were like 5000 dollars then.. Duh!
