Is this song tongue in cheek? That's the way I hear it from listening to the lyrics.

"The landlord said your rent is late. He may have to litigate. Don't worry, be happy."

"Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style. Ain't got no girl to make you smile. Don't worry, be happy."

I always thought it was a very optimistic song, until I heard the lyrics.
