Don't understand Intel at all. $103 for celeron 900Mhz or a Tbird 1200Ghz for $110, which would you choose?

and there's no way that an AMD k6-2 550 should cost the same price as a duron 800.

intels priceing is actualy rather modist if you belive that amd makes inferior products. that, combinded with the fact that the 900 celeron will work in may peoples curent motherboards so as makeing it at least another $70+ cheaper, proves the 900mhz at $103 celeron the perfict upgrade at a wonderful price. granted you would have to be a compleate idiot when it comes to tecnology to folow that logic, but no one said the world was full of smart people did they?

To make it fair, newegg.com 105 for a 1.2 ghz now... Oh wait, that just furthers your point. Intel uses advertising money in place of r&d, therefor they can make overpriced processors, and make people think they have the "best" processor.

dude, you're an idiot just looking to flame. NEW system builders will not buy the chip, but people that looking to upgrade will buy it since they won't have to buy a new mobo, ram, heatsink, power supply and case fans. that's also why the evergreen and spectra overdrives are so expensive.

look at my first post. maybe you can "enlighten" me as to why AMD, who has such "great" prices, has the 550mhz k6-2 priced the same as the 800mhz duron.

Probably because the K6-2 is out of production and the supply is drying up? Just a guess.

Yup, old edo ram cost more than DDR. Another example of how low supply causes increased price.
