Don't touch your CPU fan....

I had a CPU fan that i took off because the mobo connector went bad or something and doesnt power the fan anymore...so i had to hook it up to the CASE fan slot to make it spin...... while doing this i was testing which connectors were good (while power was on) The fan i was testing spins at 7200 rpms and is pretty solid... that's pretty fast. My thumb slipped and hit the fan and blood started spewing..... All i could do was watch while i tried to disconnect the fan in the jumble of wires... :-\ .... blah. I hate computer related injuries.

heh

i had that happen before too, snap the nail in half and bleeding excessively... put some beloved patriot on it and 3 month later it looks normal... the blood dried under nail..

actually i had mobo on tray and the fan fell and i thought it stopped when i reach to get it , it jumped up and snap my finger nail...

Hmm... I never bled from my delta. Maybe i didn't stick it in all the way? ^^... it hurt but didn't bleed. Anyways, how IS the fan anyways? you sure you don't need to bring it to the computer store?

LMAO... things that spin fast, big or small, tend to bite pretty good, as some of you found out graphically.

Did anything get shorted out or damaged secondary to gushing blood?

Oh, BTW. Use regular household bleach cut with water to clean up any blood. A mix of 1 part bleach to 9 parts water works. Just to kill any "nasties" that might be hiding, not saying there are any.:Q😀

within 3 days, I got part of my fingernail ripped off my may cpu fan then, it tore up the end of my middle finger, it was suprising how much it bled :Q🙁

lol.... dude I am NOT getting a dell.... i'd get something on the lines of a sony 🙂 ....just cause their sexy. Yeah the Fan is okay.... i mean that thing is a thick fan... I downgraded fans to something that runs @ 3000rpms compared to 7200...ow.

If you've ever heard of the case "Neon Light" don't get it... i've went through 2 brand new mobos on it in the past 2 weeks. None of them fit properly in it. I had to acutally replace the Asus mobo cause i fried my 1700 in it and downgraded to the MSI / 1700. (both new).

Because it didn't fit right in the case I had to raise the PCI side to where the PCI bays are with duct tape, and placed the mobo on that... (ran out of electrical tape) which made the PCI cards slide in their PCI slots so much better.... this time i won't fry my geforce3 ti200 because of the damn issue. :-\

After that i layered the metal case under the mobo with anti-static material (under PCI slots) in a 9 inch square because the circuits were touching the metal of the case. I've only got 2 screws holding the mobo on at the top....haha it's "jerry-rigged" but what can you seriously do.

I've stuck my fingers in so many different fans, both for fun and practical reasons.

Never have I hurt myself.

Maybe it's the calluses from looking at pr0n ^H^H^H^H^H^H I mean, labor. Yeah, that's it. 😉

My little finger managed to stray into my 60mm heatsink fan whilst I was cable-tieing some wires inside the case - I was lazy and didn't turn the machine off - my nail broke and it was painful for about 2 weeks.

"Don't touch your CPU fan"

I guess this advice would be similar to...
Don't touch the bare slug of your P3-450 after the system locks

That's right, I booted all the way up to the desktop WITHOUT any HS attached. When it froze up, I looked inside at the bare CPU.
Hmmm, I wonder... OUCH!! :Q

Ya know that in some parts of the country, blood on the motherboard
is a good omen. You'll have very good luck with that 'puter..........
